AI Sourcing Lab
one day, your own roles

Twelve recruiters, in a room, with the roles they are actually stuck on. You go home with a tested string library, an AI screening set, and one automation running in your own stack — not a slide deck and a login to yet another tool.

Why this day exists

Most recruiters have used AI. Almost none have changed how they work.

You have tried the tools. There is a folder of prompts somewhere. And on Monday morning you still open the same search, still write the same message, still wait for the same silence. The problem was never the tools — it is that nobody ever sat next to you and rebuilt your pipeline with you, on your roles.

So bring three open roles you are stuck on. We fix those, in the room, and you keep everything we build.

What you leave with

Three working things

01

Your string library

Boolean and x-ray strings for your own open roles, tested against live results in the room — plus the pattern, so you can write the next fifty yourself.

02

Your screening set

A prompt set that grades candidates against your actual intake, with the guardrails that keep it defensible when someone asks how the decision was made.

03

One automation, running

Role in, qualified longlist and drafted outreach out. Built live, in your own stack, switched on before you leave. Not "here is a template".

Plus the recording of the online edition (22 & 24 September) when it lands, and thirty days of email access to me for the inevitable it broke, why.

The day, hour by hour

09:30 → 16:00

09:00

Doors, coffee, laptops out

Bring a laptop and three roles you are genuinely stuck on. That is the whole prep.

09:30

The four layers

Find, qualify, reach, repeat. Where AI earns its keep in each one, and the two places it will confidently lie to you. Fifteen minutes of theory, and that is all the theory there is.

10:00

Layer 1 — Finding people who are actually there

Boolean and x-ray that still outperforms semantic search, and the AI layer that makes it fast instead of replacing it. We write strings for your roles and run them.

You build: your string library
11:00

Break

11:15

Layer 2 — Qualification at scale

Turning an intake into a scoring rubric a model can apply consistently. Where bias creeps in, what the EU AI Act actually asks of you, and how to keep a record that survives a hiring manager's second-guessing.

You build: your screening set
12:30

Lunch

Included. And the moment you can walk out with a full refund if this is not what you came for.

13:15

Layer 3 — Outreach that gets answered

Personalisation from evidence, not from merge tokens. We build a message engine that reads a profile and writes something a human would actually reply to — then pressure-test it against the messages you sent last month.

You build: your message engine
14:30

Break

14:45

Layer 4 — Make it run without you

We wire layers 1 to 3 into one automation in your own stack and switch it on. Everyone leaves with it running. This is the hour people email me about six months later.

15:45

Monday morning

What to do first, what to leave alone, and how the thirty days of follow-up work.

16:00

Done

Drinks for whoever is not in a hurry.

Honestly

Who this is for

Come if you are

  • An in-house recruiter, sourcer or TA lead with real open roles right now
  • An agency recruiter whose margin depends on speed
  • Comfortable enough with a laptop to follow along — no code required
  • Willing to put your actual roles on the table instead of a hypothetical one

Skip it if you

  • Want a tour of forty AI tools
  • Are looking for a certificate rather than a working pipeline
  • Cannot bring a laptop, or cannot share a real role
  • Want to sit and watch — this is a lab, you will be building

If by 12:30 you do not believe this day will pay for itself, say so and I refund you on the spot — no form, no argument, no awkwardness. I would rather carry that risk than have you sit through an afternoon you did not want. It is also the reason you can book this without a meeting with me first.

Payment upfront by iDEAL or card; a proper VAT invoice arrives by email within minutes. Cancel up to seven days before for a full refund — after that, send a colleague in your place.

Who is running it

Gordon Lokenberg

I have been sourcing for over twenty years and teaching other people to do it for nearly as long. I chaired the exam committee for the Dutch registered recruitment education, wrote the course material for it, and ran a team of fifteen specialist sourcers across the Netherlands and Lithuania. Somewhere in there I co-founded one of the first mobile recruitment apps in the world, with Deloitte as its first customer.

I am also a licensed private investigator and a registered open source intelligence expert, which is a long way of saying I know how to find people who do not want to be found — and where the line is. Last year I certified on the EU AI Act, which is why the second block of this day is about evidence and defensibility rather than vibes.

Before you ask

Questions

Do I need to know anything technical?
No code, no engineering background. If you can build a LinkedIn search and use a browser, you can do everything in this day. The automation we build in the afternoon is drag-and-drop, and I will be at your shoulder for it.
What do I need to bring?
A laptop, the logins for whatever you already use, and three open roles you are genuinely struggling with. Not sanitised examples — the messy ones. Those make the best day.
Which tools are we using?
Whatever you already pay for, plus free tiers of what you do not. I am not reselling anyone's software and there is no affiliate link on this page. If a tool is not worth its price, I will say so in the room.
Where exactly is it?
Nieuwemeerdijk 297, 1171 NS Badhoevedorp — our own office, fifteen minutes from Schiphol and straight off the A9. Free parking. If you are flying in, a morning flight gets you here in time and you can be back at the airport by 17:00.
Is it in English or Dutch?
English, so the room is open to everyone. If it turns out everybody there is Dutch we will switch — but the materials stay in English.
Can my employer be invoiced instead?
Yes. Book the seat and forward the invoice, or reply to the confirmation and I will send a purchase invoice. Payment does need to land before 11 September for the seat to be held.
What if I want this for my whole team, in-house?
That exists — a full day at your office, up to twelve people, built entirely around your own roles. I run a limited number of them each quarter. Email me and I will send the dates I have left.

Twelve seats. One Friday.

Two weeks from now you either have a pipeline that runs partly without you, or you have the same Monday you had last week. It costs €395 and one day to find out which.
